Our Teacher

Sean Bostrom, our head teacher, is also the elementary music teacher in Priest River, ID (West Bonner County School District). As a passionate child-centered teacher, Sean boasts experience in classical piano, jazz, blues, as well as chamber music. He finds much joy in working with children and helping them grow their physical and cognitive abilities. Sean’s alma mater is Minot State University in North Dakota where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Throughout his musical journeys, he has earned many awards in piano performance such as:

  • Minot Symphony Orchestra Senior Honors competition, Minot, ND (2020)

  • MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) North Dakota Piano Competition (2017/18)

  • Kruschke Piano Competition at California State University, Chico (2016)

  • Veridian Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Competition, Yuba City, CA (2014)

Sean has worked with many students in north Idaho since moving here in 2020. He is the founder of the Priest River Piano Competition and performs solo and chamber recitals regularly. This past summer Sean was invited to work at IMC (the International Music Camp) at the International Peace Gardens. While there, he was able to coach students alongside world renowned musicians and teachers.

In his free time Sean enjoys swimming, jet skiing, cliff jumping, skiing, hiking, huckleberry picking, making music with friends, and spending time with family.

Our work is our purpose, our driving force. It's the reason we get up every day and do what we do. Most importantly, it keeps pushing us to achieve bigger and better things with each new challenge.

Challenge yourself with the art of music!
